This expedition is designed to let you experience Lapland as a local, not a tourist. With a local guide and a cozy cottage as the base camp, enjoy an unforgettable and authentic Arctic adventure.
Leave the tourist crowds behind and step into the real Finnish wilderness near the eastern border. You’ll spend your days exploring untouched snowscapes - hiking past surreal national parks, snowmobiling, and tracking wild animals in quiet forests. Between outdoor adventures, you'll experience authentic local life, cooking traditional Lappish meals over open campfires.
When darkness falls, head out into Arctic skies to track down the Northern Lights. You’ll stay in a wooden cottage surrounded by nature, wrapping up cold days the Finnish way - relaxing in a sauna with the option to take a ice lake plunge.

Full Itinerary
Day 1 - The journey begins
Upon arrival at Rovaniemi Airport, transfer directly to your accommodation to settle in. Spend the afternoon exploring the iconic Santa Claus Village right on the Arctic Circle.
In the evening, gather for a welcome dinner, followed by an Aurora Workshop focused on understanding the Northern Lights and capturing them on camera.
Day 2 - Into the wild Lapland
Leaving the crowds behind, head east toward the Russian borderlands, remaining safely within Finnish territory, to start the real expedition in one of Europe’s most untouched wildernesses.
Settle into our base camp, a cottage surrounded by nature. During the sunset, enjoy a hike through Riisitunturi National Park, surrounded by its iconic snow monster trees and migical winter landscape. After exploring the trail, gather around an open fire to recharge with a traditional Lappish Barbecue Dinner served under the fading Arctic light.
As darkness settles over the Lapland wilderness, set out on a night hunt across the snowscapes to track down and capture the Northern Lights beneath the Arctic sky.
Day 3 - Finnish way of life
Spend the day living like a Finn.
The morning begins with a scenic hike through Oulanka National Park, paired with a traditional Lappish Barbecue Lunch cooked over an open fire.
After the hike, relax in a traditional Finnish Sauna with an optional dip in the ice lake for the brave ones.
In the evening, set out for a Wildlife Safari. With a bit of luck, encounter reindeers in their natural habitat, mooses, arctic foxes and other wildlife that call these endless forests home.
When the Arctic sky gets dark again, it means only one think - the start of a Hunt for the Northern Lights.
Day 4 - Outdoor winter activities
Spend the morning on a frozen lake learning ice fishing, followed by free time in the afternoon.
Later, take a guided snowmobile ride through the surrounding wilderness.
Return to the cottage in the evening for and another traditional sauna session.
Day 5 - Goodbye Lapland
Enjoy a relaxing morning reflecting on your Arctic adventures.
Spend your final hours picking up souvenirs or relaxing in town before transferring to the airport or train station for your journey home.
